The FIFA announced on Wednesday that Indonesia's bid to host the under-20 World Cup has been rejected. The governor of Bali, an island that is mostly Hindu, declined to host Israel's team, prompting Indonesia's football federation (PSSI) to suspend the draw. As a result, the decision was made to withdraw Indonesia as the tournament's host from May 20 to June 11. Indonesia will no longer serve as the host of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2023, according to a statement from FIFA. "A replacement host will be revealed as soon as feasible, and the tournament's dates will remain the same. At a later time, decisions on possible fines against the PSSI may also be made. FIFA further stated that the choice had been made after a meeting between its president Gianni Infantino and PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir. Officials from PSSI did not respond to Reuters' requests for comment right away. Earlier this month, demonstrators marched through Jakarta's centre while carrying...

Given the political ties between the two neighbouring countries, the Pakistan Cricket Board asked senior International Cricket Council officials to take into account a "hybrid model" for Pakistan and India in the upcoming events. The Asia Cup, the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup later this year, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 are two of the top three 50-over tournaments that will take place in either Pakistan or India. Najam Sethi, the interim chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board's Management Committee, suggested ICC officials, including chairman Greg Barclay and chief executive Geoff Allardice, look into the possibility of India and Pakistan playing at neutral venues during the events in question because it is unlikely that both teams will travel to either country for the tournaments. According to knowledgeable sources, Dawn has been told that Sethi's offer was made last week outside of the ICC Board meetings and that it garnered a "encouraging response...

As authorities widen their investigation of their circle, India is talking about the unusual disappearance and concealing of the sought-after Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh. Journalists in India claim that the Sikh activist was spotted in four different Indian cities, but law enforcement is still unable to apprehend him. He has been successful in eluding authorities after a Punjabi state issued an arrest notice for him. According to a BBC story, a Punjab police operation conducted on March 28 in the village of Hoshiarpur proved fruitless because Mr. Singh could not be apprehended, leading to speculation that he might still be hiding in the Punjab. Since his popularity increased among those calling for a separate Sikh nation from India, Mr. Singh has come under fire. The first effort to detain Mr. Singh occurred on March 18, when he and his followers attacked a police station and demanded the release of his friend. This led to a fight between the police and Mr. Singh's supporters. Af...
