Coming to Netflix is an animated version of Stranger Things.
Netflix has revealed that an animated series based on its wildly popular original series Stranger Things is in the works. The series will take place in the show's canon.
The animated series will be produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen through 21 Laps, Eric Robles through Flying Bark Productions, and Matt and Ross Duffer, also known as the Duffer Brothers, under their production name Upside Down Pictures.
To see this desire come true has been "incredibly wonderful," the twins said in a statement to Netflix. "We've always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the tradition of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up enjoying."
"The screenplays and artwork that Eric Robles and his team have created are wonderful, and we cannot wait to share more with you! We are beyond impressed. The adventure goes on, they continued.
Animated series like Random! Cartoons, Fanboy & Chum Chum, and Glitch Techs were previously produced by Robles.
Mobile apps like Stranger Things: Puzzle Stories, Stranger Things: 1984, and Stranger Things 3: The Game were all inspired by the well-liked Netflix original. Also, it served as inspiration for the current West End production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow in London.
