Renowned comedian Majid Jahangir passed away after prolonged illness

 Majid Jahangir worked for PTV for 22 years and acted in 4 films - 



Comedian Majid Jahangir, who gained fame from the drama series 'Fifty Fifty' aired on Pakistan Television (PTV) in the 80s, passed away yesterday in Lahore after prolonged illness.


He spent the last few days of his life in extreme poverty, fracturing his vertebrae in a fall last month, and suffering from a respiratory illness that worsened over time.


Former Sindh Governor Ishratul Abad expressed grief over the death of Majid Jahangir.

In the interview, the actor had said that he had appealed to the Governor of Sindh for help in his treatment, but despite the passage of one and a half years, nothing was done by the government.


Majid Jahangir hailed from Karachi, he started his acting career with Moin Akhtar's show 'Saat Rang' which aired on PTV Was blessed.

In the late 80s, Majid Jahangir went to America where he spent 23 years.


When Majid Jahangir returned home again, he once again performed his art on various TV channels.


He worked for Pakistan Television Network for 22 years and also showed acting qualities in 4 films.


Majid Jahangir, a well-known actor of yesteryear, was honored with Pride of Performance Award by the President of the State for his memorable performance in the comedy series 'Fifty Fifty', while the Government also awarded him with the Tagha Imtiaz in 2020.
