The Department of Agriculture has determined that Pakistan's thick Miraz terrain is ideal for growing sunflowers.
The Department of Agriculture has advised farmers not to grow sunflowers on silty or extremely sandy soil and has deemed heavy miraz land to be particularly suitable for such production. According to the Research Information Unit of the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute in Faisalabad, the government is offering plenty of facilities for the cultivation of oilseeds in the greatest possible area, thus farmers should make sure to plant sunflowers in the greatest possible area.
According to him, sunflower cultivation for the spring might begin as early as January 1. According to the plan, he claimed that from January 1 to January 31, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Leh, Lodhran, Rajanpur, and Bhakkar districts in Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Khanewal, Multan, Wahari, and Bahalangar will sow sunflower seeds in the spring. In the districts of Faisalabad, Jhang, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Sahiwal, and Okara from January 10 to February 10, and in the districts of Sialkot, Gujranwala, Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, and Narowal from January 15 to February 15. It can be done in the cities of Attock, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, and Gujarat from February 1 through February 25, as well.
According to him, the recommended seed rate should be 20 to 25 kg per acre for the necessary number of plants to produce sunflowers at their maximum capacity. He claimed that growing hybrid sunflower cultivars including Hysun 33, Hysun 39, Agora 4, NK 278, DK 4040, 64A93, and FH 331 will increase production for farmers. He claimed that while thick alluvial soil is ideal for growing sunflowers, silty and sandy soil should not be used for this purpose.
