Owner of Peshawar Zalmi Javed Afridi has made the decision to abstain from today's HBL PSL 8 Draft in Karachi in a silent protest.
Javed won't go to the PSL Governing Council meeting either. The protest is in response to recent comments made by CEO Faisal Hasnain and PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja regarding cricket-related events in Peshawar.

The pair claimed last week that foreign teams and athletes are not allowed to visit Peshawar for PSL and international matches.
This has reportedly hindered their attempts to resuscitate cricket in Peshawar, according to Zalmi sources. The remarks have left a bad impression on the city.
While Hayatabad Cricket Stadium is also being built, the Arbab Niaz Stadium is now being built with the intention of hosting prestigious cricket tournaments in the near future. Last week, PCB received it.
These cutting-edge stadiums cost around 2 billion each to construct.
PCB representatives attempted to persuade Javed, but he is adamant in his opinion. Zalmi has chosen not to respond to this development in the meantime.
Director Mohammad Akram and other Zalmi officials will be present at the draught.
