In the interim, a panel led by Najam Sethi is in charge of running the Pakistan Cricket Board's operations.
According to Najam Sethi, who is leading a panel overseeing the Pakistan Cricket Board's operations until a chairman is chosen, "advice has to be sought" from the government in cricket-related issues involving India.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, he responded to a question from a reporter by saying it was "too early" for him to comment on "strategic matters" involving India. Sports ties between the two countries were already strained due to the neighbor's refusal to come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023.
According to Sethi, the government "gives guidance" to the sports board regarding its ultimate choices in these situations.
He continued by saying that the issue would be examined in committee meetings and admitted that he didn't have a thorough understanding of the choices made before to his appointment and the rationale behind them.
For the current T20 World Cup, India has denied the Pakistan blind cricket team's visas on "political grounds."
Future ambitions
Sethi claimed that the board's "primary objective" would be to "repair the domestic cricket framework" because he believed that new cricket players were only coming from the Pakistan Super League tournament.
He also asserted again that the PCB's 2014 constitution would be reinstated and said "a stadium is being prepared in Peshawar," implying that matches would soon be played there.
In response to a different question, the journalist said that, although he had been disappointed at the time of his resignation in 2018, he had thought "Imran Khan's vision will bring growth [to Pakistan cricket]".
Sethi stated that the PCB would inform the general public and the media of its decisions.
