After defeating Morocco 2-0, France goes to the World Cup final and will face Argentina.

After ending one happy ending at the World Cup, France immediately turned its attention to another.

Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani scored both goals as the defending champions defeated Morocco 2-0 on Wednesday. Next up is a matchup between Argentina and Lionel Messi in the final on Sunday. Messi has a dazzling resume but is still waiting to win a World Cup.

Forward Antoine Griezmann stated, "Any team with Messi is a very different prospect. "Argentina has played before, and we are familiar with their style. They are a top-notch team that is challenging to play against. They have a (strong) team surrounding Messi as well."

However, Griezmann remarked with a smile, "We'll be ready.

Since Brazil in 1998, France is the first reigning champion to advance to the championship game. Les Bleus will strive to emulate the feat of another Brazilian team, the 1962 squad that is the last to repeat as champions, in order to escape Ronaldo and Company's destiny that year—they lost to France.

Didier Deschamps, the team's coach, remarked, "We all know we have a possibility now of defending our title in the final on Sunday." "That's already a fantastic accomplishment, but we'll do all in our power to make sure we're even happier on Sunday night."

Even if it means trampling on a few fairy tales in the process.

Morocco is the first African and Arab country to advance to a World Cup semifinal, and the Atlas Lions have gained popularity throughout the competition. Only Argentina had more supporters who filled stadiums around Doha and its surroundings, and because of all the Moroccan flags and jerseys, the Souq Waqif resembled Casablanca or Marrakesh.

As they dance with their mothers and throw coach Walid Regragui into the air, the players celebrate their victories.

In the second half of their semifinal match at the 2022 World Cup at Al Bayt Stadium, France forwards Randal Kolo Muani, 12, scored a goal against Morocco.

But Morocco wasn't just a tenacious underdog. It eliminated Belgium, Spain, and Portugal to get to the semifinals with just one goal, an own goal, going into the game.

Regragui stated, "We pulled out all the brakes and gave everything on the pitch. "We did really cause them issues, which is already a success. Perhaps this was a step too far at a World Cup. Physically, not in terms of our abilities or strategies. At 60 and 70%, we had too many players."

Morocco nonetheless gave France all the trouble it could manage.

Early on, it appeared that Les Bleus would defeat Croatia and Argentina to advance to the final. Griezmann dribbled up the right side and into the box in the fifth minute. Unable to find an opening, he crossed to Kylian Mbappe in front of the goal. A number of players were able to clear the ball after smothering Mbappe.

Hernandez, though, was left to handle it. He raised his left leg in the air and made a volley. Yassine Bounou, the goalie, had no chance because of the excellent angle and the ball's descent rather than its ascent and over the crossbar.

But if anyone believed Morocco would falter, they haven't been paying much attention to the Atlas Lions this year.

France had to hold on for the majority of the rest of the game as Morocco created chance after chance. With a bicycle kick that struck Hugo Lloris' glove and then the post in the 44th minute, Jawad El-Yamiq came dangerously close to scoring the game's winning goal. Sofyan Amrabat and Yahya Attiat-Allah also missed early in the second half.

In the first half of the semifinal game at Al Bayt Stadium, France's Ibrahima Konate (24) heads the ball against Achraf Dari of Morocco.

Les Bleus, though, eventually gave themselves some

Mbappe made his fellow countrywoman Perrine Laffont, who won the women's moguls gold medal at the 2018 Olympics, proud as he slid past a group of defenders in the box. Kolo Muani was standing close to the goal when his shot was deflected, but all that happened was to put it in his path.

Kolo Muani gave France an unstoppable lead with his first touch of the game after entering the game barely seconds earlier.

Regragui stated, "We wanted to try and score to make them doubt." However, you always pay for your mistakes, and we did with the second goal.

The only thing left was for France to end one team's dream and look forward to deflating that.
