Lee Jung-jae, the star of Squid Game, asserts that Korean cinema has been improving for years.

The South Korean won for portraying the lead character of Seong Gi-hun, who in the popular Netflix series becomes more and more desperate.

Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the program, became the first Asian to win the award for best drama series director.

The greatest comedy series award went to Ted Lasso for the second year in a row, and the award for finest drama went to Succession for the same period of time.

Jesse Armstrong, a British creator of the drama, made fun of the monarchy in his acceptance speech at the year's most prestigious award show for the US television business.

He jokingly said, "It's a huge week for successions - new King in the UK

This for us." Evidently, our victory over Prince Charles had a little more voter participation.

Although blockbusters like Squid Game and Parasite may make it seem simple, Emmy winner Lee Jung-Jae claims South Korean cinema spent years learning how to reach previously unheard-of worldwide audiences by telling stories about the brutality and competition of contemporary life.

We are thrilled that we are able to introduce a non-English work to a global audience, added Lee.

In an interview at the Toronto film festival, he remarked, "Even from Korea, everyone was very delighted, and they were giving me congratulations messages.

There are many interviews and other things waiting for me when I return

The savage social satire, which follows in the footsteps of South Korea's Parasite, the first foreign-language film to win the best picture at the Oscars, is about misfits and criminals competing for money in warped versions of schoolyard sports.

Lee stated that Korean cinema has been attempting to improve its connections with international audiences for a considerable amount of time.

We now see a lot of high-quality content that has resonated globally and received critical praise as a result of many years' worth of work.

Squid Game director Hwang Dong-hyuk is penning a widely anticipated second season as a result of the show's enormous economic success, with Lee teasing that his character Seong Gi-hun "will be radically different" this time around.

When Bong Joon-ho, the director of Parasite, shocked Hollywood by taking home the best picture Oscar in 2020, he talked about the significance of breaking through "the one-inch-tall barrier of subtitles."

Despite agreeing that South Korea's culture "has become widely understood globally" as the world becomes more interconnected thanks to technology like social media and global streaming, Lee claimed he had not discussed South Korea's newfound global prominence with Bong.

It's really natural for us since, as he noted, "In Korea, we actually consume a lot of content from different nations and all over the world."

"The world is a lot closer now," he continued. It is not difficult for foreign audiences to comprehend Korea's special story.

It's normal. "With everyone getting to know one another better, it's not hard to comprehend the feelings — such as anguish or grief — of others because we live in a society where feelings are instantaneously communicated.

 Season 2

Squid Game, a worldwide phenomenon, returns to Netflix with a first-look trailer for season 2.

In a letter made public by Netflix, the show's writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk teased a little information about the upcoming second season.
He added that "the man in the suit with Takuji might come back," in addition to characters Gi-hun and The Front Man returning.
You'll meet Young-boyfriend hee's as well, he added. One of the games has an artificial doll with motion detection named Young-hee.
When the new season would be released was not specified by Netflix.

 Season 3

Leonardo DiCaprio has admitted to being a fan of the "Squid Game," but the Hollywood star may actually be playing the game in the third season of the well-liked Netflix series.

Leonardo DiCaprio may be asked to join the cast of Netflix's Emmy-winning international blockbuster hit in a subsequent season, claims the show's creator-director Hwang Dong-hyuk.

Squid Game's second season is currently under production, and there are already rumors that a third season may entail casting non-Korean performers from the US.

At a recent Netflix press event in Seoul, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk answered to a query about Hollywood actors starring in Squid Game by saying, "There won't be any known Hollywood actors in Season 2...it's still set in Korea."

In support of that, Dong-hyuk stated that a third season featuring Leonardo DiCaprio is not entirely improbable because he is aware of the actor's interest in the show. "Perhaps, if time and opportunities permit, we can ask Leo to join the games."

The original Squid Game's cast included actors who were largely unheard of in the west.

Although going global was always his goal, Hwang, the first Korean director to win an Emmy, said he never imagined such a significant success. He thinks that the Emmy victories would inspire future international creators.
